MEDICAL COUNCIL OF INDIA PUBLIC NOTICE

It is brought to the notice of all concerned that the Regulations framed under Section 33 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 with prior approval of Central Government provides for following time schedule for admission to the M.B.B.S., Postgraduate and Super-specialty medical courses. Universities, Medical Colleges, institutions, State Governments including all authorities granting admission in medical courses mentioned above are hereby directed to strictly adhere to time schedule for admissions in various courses laid down in the Regulation failing which the appropriate proceeding prescribed in the Regulations of Medical Council of India shall be initiated and contempt proceeding as envisaged in the judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in Priya Gupta vs. State of Chattisgarh rendered on 8.5.2012 is also likely to be initiated.

NOTE:-@@ Head of the Colleges should intimate the vacancies existing after the last date for joining the course by the candidate concerned in respect of the All India Quota of seats to the DGHS within seven days and latest by 6th April for postgraduate courses and 23rd July for super-speciality courses.

* It may be noted that the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India pursuant to the IA No.
35/2012 moved by Union of India in WP No. 443 of 1992 captioned as Sharwan Kumar v. Dir. General of Health Services and Anr. vide its Order dated 07.06.2012 has allowed to conduct online MBBS counseling as per the schedule submitted by the Director-General of Health Services for the current academic year.
