Admission Ph.D. Courses under External Fellowship 2013-14
National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences is a multidisciplinary Institute for patient care and academic pursuit in the frontier area of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences
Applications are invited for pursuing Ph.D in the following departments from Candidates with Sponsorship from Govt of India/State Govt Institutions or Sponsored/deputed from recognized Universities
Candidates with Fellowships from Govt agencies like UGC, ICMR, CSIR, DBT (JRF/SRF only) and permanent/Tenured employees of NIMHANS can also apply

- Ph.D. degree in Mental Health & Social Psychology
- Ph.D. degree in Neurophysiology
- Ph.D. degree in Speech Pathology & Audiology
- Ph.D. degree in Clinical Neurosciences (ICMR Fellowship)
External Fellowships: Candidates with Sponsorship from Government of India/State Govt. Institutions, Deputed or Sponsored from a recognized University, Fellowships from Government Agencies like UGC/ICMR/CSIR etc., Permanent Employees and tenured employees of NIMHANS can also apply for Ph.D. in the various departments of this Institute, which will be considered at the discretion of the competent authority for Entrance Test
They have to work on full time basis for a minimum period of THREE years (Two years in case of having M.Phil/DNB/MD/MS/DM/M.Ch. degrees)
The Entrance Test and Interview will be held during the month of October 2013
Eligibility Criteria: Candidates applying for Ph.D. with Fellowship from UGC, CSIR, ICMR, DBT (JRF/SRF only) are exempted from the Entrance Test
However all the candidates have to attend an interview and qualify by obtaining minimum of 50% marks to be eligible for admission to the Ph.D Programme
Application Form: Applications are available online and can be downloaded from 05th August, 2013 to 15th September 2013
Application fee is Rs.1500/- per course (Rs.1000/- in case of SC/ST candidates) and should be paid in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of “DIRECTOR, NIMHANS” and sent along with the Application The last date for the receipt of the duly filled in application along with Demand Draft and enclosures is 15th September 2013
